Design Thinking Coursework: Fitness App
Using Design Thinking processes to create a smartphone app which will help people improve their fitness.
Step 1: Empathize
I conducted a series of video and audio user interviews with potential users of a fitness app-people who, for various reasons, wished they were exercising more.
I followed this up with a probe exercise (borrowed heavily from the book Make Time), where users documented each day for a week whether or not they exercised, which tactics worked, which didn’t and what they’d like to try the next day.
Step 2: Define
Sifting through data, I created an affinity diagram to identify important themes for the users I interviewed.
